Upstage Youth Theatre

At UpStage, we believe that performance is a powerful way for both children and adults to develop essential life skills like self-confidence, self-awareness, and the ability to work as part of a team. These qualities are not just valuable for the stage, but for navigating the challenges of everyday life.

Our classes are designed for all ages, starting from preschoolers to high school students, and focus on a variety of theatrical styles and techniques. We offer a wide range of classes, including Drama Magic for Preschoolers, Beginner Ensemble for younger children (Years K-2), and more advanced programs like Screen Acting and HSC Drama Studies for older students (Years 7+). Whether your child is interested in Musical Theatre, improvisation, or learning how to act for the camera, we have something to inspire and engage them.

At UpStage, every class is built around fun and creative activities that help develop a strong foundation in performance. From warm-up games that encourage teamwork to exercises that focus on concentration and performance skills, our lessons are thoughtfully designed to build confidence and allow students to express themselves. They also get hands-on experience with script work, physical theatre, audition preparation, and stagecraft, preparing them for a variety of performance opportunities.

Our approach extends beyond the classroom. We provide opportunities for students to perform every week during class, and we stage auditioned productions twice a year in unique outdoor venues like Maddies of Bolwarra and Tocal Homestead. Additionally, we host an annual One Act Play Festival, giving students a chance to showcase the skills they've developed in class.
