Miranda RSL Youth Club

Miranda RSL Youth Club was established in 1962 and is an affiliate of the Miranda RSL Sub-Branch. The Sub-Branch provides the Youth Club with financial assistance each year which contributes to the purchase of new equipment and subsidising athlete fees.

The Youth Club has a proud history of offering fun and inclusive activities for young people. The Club currently has around 200 members and 20 coaches who instruct Karate, Trampoline and Tumbling. Membership is open to all young people up to 25 years of age.

ACTIVITIES

★ Karate

Shotokan Karate is a great way to get fit and have fun whilst learning self-defence and self-discipline. Shotokan is the world’s best-known style of Karate and derives its name from the pen name of its founder Gichin Funakoshi. This style of Karate is notable for its effective use of attacks and blocks at far maai, meaning distance is maintained between opponents.

★ Trampoline

Trampoline or Trampoline Gymnastics is a sport that combines the athleticism of acrobatics with the fun of bouncing on a backyard trampoline. Trampoline lessons are great for children of all ages. At Miranda RSL Youth Club, you can learn trampoline skills in a safe and friendly environment under the guidance of qualified coaches. All coaches at Miranda RSL Youth Club are accredited with Gymnastics NSW and attend compulsory updating courses throughout the year.

★ Tumbling

Tumbling is a discipline of Trampoline Gymnastics that involves a series of skills such as round offs, back handsprings, whips and somersaults, performed in a single continuous row along a sprung floor.

At Miranda RSL Youth Club, basic tumbling is integrated into all of our classes. Advanced tumbling is taught in our Competition Classes and in our dedicated Tumbling Class.
