🥋 About Gracie Barra Carlton

Founded in 2018 by Professor Rodolfo Nygaard, a 3rd Degree Black Belt with over 22 years of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu experience, Gracie Barra Carlton is recognised for teaching the highest level of BJJ. More than just martial arts, the school is a hub for physical education, character development, and self-defence, built on the philosophy of discipline, wellness, family, and respect.

🌟 Children’s Martial Arts Training

Our GBKids Program (ages 3–15) helps children build confidence, resilience, persistence, respect, and focus in a safe and fun environment. Kids learn valuable life skills alongside effective self-defence techniques, preparing them to face challenges with courage and a strong mindset.

🥷 Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for All

Whether you’re a beginner or experienced, our BJJ programs cater to all levels. Students gain strength, flexibility, and self-defence skills while also improving focus, energy, and overall wellbeing. The lessons learned on the mats extend into everyday life, helping students grow inside and outside of training.

🛡️ Self-Defence for Women

Our Women Empowered program combines realistic self-defence drills with fitness training. It’s designed to boost confidence, teach practical safety strategies, and provide a workout that empowers women both physically and mentally.

🎉 School Holiday Camps

Our holiday camps (ages 5–14) offer an exciting mix of martial arts, self-defence, teamwork, fitness, and fun. With certified instructors, kids enjoy a safe and engaging environment while learning the most effective martial art available—Gracie Barra Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
