DanceWorks Nowra

DanceWorks Nowra was established by Principal Amy Holder in 2013 and has earned the reputation of being Shoalhaven’s Leading Dance School. DanceWorks Nowra is the dance school of choice for those who value the highest standards and quality in all aspects of their child’s dance training and education. In 2021, DanceWorks Nowra was handed over to Morgan Holt who continues to uphold the same morals and values that the school has become so well known for.

At DanceWorks our studios are the largest of their kind in the Shoalhaven giving plenty of room to move in comfort and safety and best utilise precious class time.

Our studios all have:

• Professionally laid Sprung Floor by Show Works protecting our dancers from impact related injuries by dancing on a FIBA tested Sprung Dance Floor

• Double Wall Mounted Barres for all age groups

• Wall to Wall full length Dance Mirrors

• Modern Sound Systems.

CLASSES

★ Classical Ballet

Classical Ballet is an essential part of a dancers technical training which forms the basis of all styles of dance.

★ Lyrical/Contemporary

Lyrical dance is centered around the classical technique but gives more freedom to the dancer through flow of the upper body.

★ Tap

Tap dance is an exciting and fun style that focuses on the movement of the feet with the use of arms to extend the floor pattern in choreography. The rhythmical patterns use varying amounts of force to create a variety of percussive sounds.

★ Jazz

Jazz dance is a continually changing and evolving genre encompassing many styles such as Broadway, Musical Theatre, Hip Hop, Funk and Lyrical.

★ Hip Hop

Hip Hop is a more casual, free style of dance and was derived from USA Street Dancing during the 1970’s but continues to develop with the current times and is strongly influenced by the music.

★ Tiny Toes

PRE-SCHOOL DANCE CLASSES FOR BOYS & GIRLS

These 30 minute classes introduce small children to the magic and fun of mime, music and dance. These classes include activities that will encourage the children to explore space, to develop musicality and to improve coordination.

★ Acro

Acrobatics teaches flexibility, balance, strength, muscle control, discipline & concentration. This class focuses on fundamental acrobatic technique.
