Bankstown Basketball Association Incorporated

A Narawee High School Teacher organised the first meeting on Friday 7 February 1964.

A historic meeting where the Canterbury Bankstown Amateur Basketball Association was initially formed. With an opening bank balance of just 3 Pounds, 7 shillings and sixpence, the club grew from a strength to strength with key supporters having an enormous impact on the Association and the stadium.

BRUINS SKILLS AND DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

Bruins Skills & Development Program offers learn to play basketball classes for kids aged 5 - 17 years of age. Our weekly 1 hour classes give our participants the opportunity to learn the skills and rules of basketball in a fun and friendly environment.

Our classes focus on developing our athlete’s fundamentals including dribbling, passing, shooting, footwork, defence and a basic understanding of game concepts. The classes run alongside the school term for approximately 10 weeks.

Bruins Skill and Development Program is offered at Bankstown Basketball Stadium and Liverpool Whitlam Centre.

Bruins Skills and Development School Holidays Camps are designed for children aged 5-17 years old. Our camps are fun focused and aim to develop participants foundational basketball skills. It’s all about engagement, making new friends and having fun!

SCHOOL PROGRAMS

Bankstown Basketball Association offers tailored school basketball programs on school grounds. Our qualified and certified coaches will come to your school, including equipment and even portable rings if needed. The programs cater for both primary and high school aged students

The Association is directly affiliated with Basketball NSW which means schools can apply for Sporting School Grant funding that can be used towards the program. This simply means there is no direct cost to the school or the students. Our programs are engaging, fun and provides an introduction to basketball.
