    Beginner string ensemble for young musicians
    Louise Butler Strings is tailored specifically for young string players who are just beginning their musical journey, from “open strings” to AMEB Grade 2 or equivalent. This ensemble provides a nurturing platform for building essential skills, making friends, and having fun!
    At Music for Canberra, we firmly believe in the transformative power of performance, instilling confidence in musicians and encouraging them to share their love for music. Members of Louise Butler Strings actively participate in String Stream concerts and community events, where they have the opportunity to showcase their progress.
    * To ensure the best possible experience, participants are expected to complement their involvement with additional individual instrumental tuition.

We offer the largest program of instrumental, ensemble, and orchestral tuition in the region, including the prestigious Canberra Youth Orchestra.


Our classes are held at the Ainslie Arts Centre, providing a welcoming space where students of all skill levels can develop their musical talents, gain confidence, and enjoy the many rewards of music.


Whether your child is a budding musician or simply wants to try something new, we’re here to nurture their love of music in a fun and supportive environment.
