    Course dates: 24/10, 31/10, 7/11, 14/11, 21/11, 28/11, 5/12, 12/12

Course time: 8:30-10:30am lesson (arrive at 8am to be ready for an 8:30am start)

Complete beginners learn to sail in Pacers with an instructor on board before progressing into PJs (Pittwater Junior) in pairs.
All our instructors are fully qualified with Australian sailing and hold first-aid and CPR qualifications. All our instructors hold WWCC.

All course participants must be club members. Further details available https://www.va12sc.org.au/membership-categories

Children under 7 will be considered if they:
Are confident swimmers and comfortable in the water,
Have their own, well-fitted life jacket,
Wear a wetsuit or adequate warm clothing for sailing - as younger kids tend to get cold the quickest.

Children over 16 are recommended to join our adult learn to sail program

About the provider

Welcome to Vaucluse Amateur 12ft Sailing Club

Since 1939 our club has been teaching kids how to sail, hosting fleet racing and nurturing champions. We are very proud of our heritage and our unique club ethos; grounded, inclusive and community spirited.

Our mission is to be Australia’s best youth sailing club, delivering first class sailing experiences through a welcoming family environment.

Want to get involved? Depending on your level of experience you may want to start off by joining our sailing school, either on Sunday mornings during terms 4 and 1, or at one of our holiday camps. If you’ve already done some sailing then you may prefer to join our fleet racing either in single-handed Sabots, two-up in Flying Eleven’s or if you are a little bit more experienced in a Cherub. Our fleet racing takes place on Sundays from September through to April.

We also host school sport programmes and we have several weekly time slots available for those schools who wish to add sailing to their sporting options offered.

Whatever your decision, we look forward to welcoming you and your family to Vaucluse Amateur 12ft Sailing Club.

Robert Ugarte, Commodore.
