We are a "not for profit" Basketball club that encourages everyone to be the best person they can be and not to worry about what others do. We are all unique and special in our own way.
Rockets was formed in 1999 and is a founding club of the SouthWest Metro Pirates Association and is managed and operated entirely by volunteers.
Our training and programs provide pathways for those with aspirations to play representative Basketball at District level or even State level or for those that enjoy a team sport with old friends or new friends.
Our age groups start at 5 years old and up until 18 years old. We cater for all skill levels and competition experience of both boys and girls.
OUR HISTORY
Runcorn Rockets was established in 1999 and was one of the founding clubs of the South West Metro Basketball Association.
Rockets has consistently been one of the largest and most successful clubs within the Association.
The club was formed to encourage children and youth in the surrounding area to participate in basketball with an emphasis on fun, personal development and team spirit.
Home for us is theStadium at Runcorn State High School on Hill Road Runcorn, however, we do have teams training at other venues in the surrounding area.
We currently have over 800+ members and continue to grow every year. The Runcorn Rockets Club fields’ teams in all age groups - from the Under 8's Miniballers boys and girls, to U18 men & women and Seniors.
Rockets typically fields between 70and 80 teams playing in the competitions on Friday night and Saturday morning for youth teams, Tuesday night Ladies and Wednesday and Sunday evening Senior Mens.
We have no geographic restriction on membership, and are always open to new player/coach/manager enquiries.
