I am a freelance artist, illustrator, and qualified art teacher living in Australia, with an international background in visual arts education. Since 1994, I have been practicing illustration and visual arts while teaching students of all ages in various state and private art institutes. After emigrating to Australia in 2009, I continued my journey as a freelance art educator and have successfully run five art workshops for children in New South Wales.

In January 2025, I will be relocating to Melbourne, where I will continue running a diverse range of art classes. These classes include drawing, acrylic, oil, and watercolour painting, sculpture, as well as specialized courses like color theory and proactive creative sessions for kids.

Biography

Fereshteh Pezeshki originally from Iran, is a multi-disciplinary artist working primarily with watercolour and mixed media. Her work explores the themes of nature and her connection to her Australian surroundings through abstract and still life paintings, with influences from traditional Persian narratives.

After completing her BA in Visual Arts from AL Zahra University and MA in Illustration from Tehran Azad University, Pezeshki furthered her studies with an MA in Teaching of Visual Arts from UTS University of Sydney, Australia.

She has exhibited her work in solo and group shows in both Iran and Australia, including notable exhibitions like Torques Paradox at Me Art Space, St Leonard’s, Sydney (2017), Home and Prize at Walker Street Gallery & Arts Centre, Melbourne (2016), Temporary Life at Annandale Creative Arts Centre, Sydney (2015), and Sales Art Gallery in Tehran (2006). In 1992, she won First Prize in Illustration at the 5th National Festival of Visual Arts in Tehran and was awarded the Honor Award in 1994.

Alongside her artistic practice, Pezeshki is passionate about teaching and regularly holds workshops for children and seniors, guiding them through creative expression with various media such as acrylic, oil, and watercolour painting, drawing, and sculpture.
