Making Music Fun for Everyone — All Abilities, All Ages!

What do we do?

WELCOME TO YOUR BEAT MUSIC HQ

We are a bright and fun music studio offering engaging music programs for children and adults of all abilities. While we proudly specialise in working with individuals with disabilities and additional needs, our classes are open to everyone who wants to enjoy the benefits of music.

WHAT WE DO

We provide a wide range of fun, supportive and inclusive music sessions designed to build confidence, develop fine and gross motor skills, and encourage self-expression. Music is a powerful tool and works beautifully alongside other therapies.

Our programs cater to all ages, with tailored support for clients with disabilities or additional needs.

CLASSES

We offer classes for children, teens and adults. NDIS clients are welcome, with sessions fitting into Capacity Building, Recreation and Social funding categories.

Classes run in 10-week blocks aligned with WA school terms. Group sizes are small—maximum of 10—to ensure each person receives personalised attention.

Instrumental lessons (piano/keyboard, guitar) are offered in 1:1 or small 1:3 groups. Our adult singing group can grow as large as needed, with support workers welcome to join in the fun too!

OUR PROGRAMS INCLUDE:

⭐ Mum & Bub Music Bonding

⭐ Toddler Music & Movement

⭐ Music Fun for 3–4 Year Olds

⭐ Primary School Music Fun + Instrumental Tuition

⭐ High School Music Exploration + Instrumental Tuition

⭐ Sibling Drumbeat Courses

ABOUT ME

I hold a Bachelor of Social Science (Human Services Administration) with a minor in Disability Studies. I spent 17 years working in the disability sector before running a successful café, later completing a Graduate Diploma in Education. I have taught as a Specialist Music & Performing Arts Teacher for 10 years.

I’ve taught piano, guitar and African drumming privately for over 25 years and have been a musician for more than 40. I’m a qualified Drumbeat and Rhythms2Recovery facilitator, hold a Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment, and am completing a Postgraduate qualification in Counselling at ECU.

Your Beat Music HQ brings together all of my experience into one place—using music to enrich the lives of children and adults of all abilities.

WHY I DO THIS

I strongly believe everyone should be able to enjoy the joy and benefits of music. My classes are full of fun, games, humour and hands-on learning, while also teaching real skills in music and instrument play.

Growing up with my older sister Peta, who has Cerebral Palsy and is Deaf, has given me a deep personal understanding of disability and its impact on families. I also run Drumbeat courses specifically for siblings. I learned sign language from early childhood, so members of the Deaf community are warmly welcomed. Drumming is especially wonderful for those with hearing impairments, as the vibrations allow them to “feel” the music.

YOUR BEAT MUSIC HQ — THE SPACE

Our Bibra Lake studio is a large, bright, air-conditioned ground-floor space with full accessibility and disabled toilet facilities.

The mezzanine level has comfortable seating for parents or carers to watch sessions. There’s also a Nespresso machine and fridge available.

The studio itself is carpeted, spacious and set up for movement, music and fun. Cushions, chairs and sensory-friendly supports (such as ear muffs) are provided. Safety measures include a secure gate to the stairs and a fully enclosed studio area for clients who might be runners. When possible, bringing a support person can help each child or adult get the most out of their session.
