What do we do?
XtrAct Drama is an Acting School in Wyong and Woy Woy, on the Central Coast of NSW, focusing on developing Community, Creativity, Confidence, Curiosity and Communication.
All classes are taught by owner, Teaching theatre artist, Danielle Brame Whiting. Weekly classes are run on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays during school term for students 8 years old (year 3 at school) and above. Private lessons and group workshops tailored to an individual or organisation can be arranged directly with Danielle.
About the Owner:
Owner of XtrAct Drama Academy since 2013, Danielle has many years experience teaching acting, Speech and Drama, in Australia and abroad, both privately and to groups. As a Teaching Artist, Danielle is able to bring not only her theoretical knowledge, but also years of practical experience in acting, play writing and directing to her students to create engaging lessons that develop life-long skills, transferable beyond the stage and into our everyday lives.
Danielle's approach to her artistic practice and teaching is underpinned by Four Guiding Principles: Encouraging Creative Community, Promoting Constructive Communication Practices, Fostering a Healthy Curiosity, and Connecting with Empathy and Imagination (which are elaborated on below).
In 2021 Danielle completed her Masters in Applied Theatre Studies with the University of New England. She strongly believes in continually pursuing development in her craft and her Masters studies have allowed her to extend on her theoretical and practical knowledge in a way that has enhanced both the content and delivery of her lessons.
Danielle is a professional theatre artist here on the Central Coast, focused on Creating, Writing and Performing. Her current work, 'Flat Pack', is being produced by The Art House Wyong. In addition to this, Danielle is also the co-founder of a youth theatre company in Tuggerah, to which she volunteers her time and knowledge as a mentor and performer.
