VPA Studios

VPA Studios is a Dance and performing Arts Studio, located in Unanderra, south of Wollongong. Creating a safe and professional environment for their students, VPA Studios currently operates out of their new facility with four purpose built studio spaces, dressing room area, study zone, kitchen and two large waiting room areas. VPA Studios has been in operation for 7 years and caters to all ages and abilities. VPA Studios offers classes to students from the age 2.5 to Pre Professional.

VPA CLASSES AND STYLES OFFERED

★ BALLET

Ballet training forms the foundation of dance technique. The skills acquired through sound ballet training infiltrate and assist in the development of all styles of dance.

★ COMMERCIAL JAZZ/BROADWAY JAZZ

Jazz is a strong, fast paced and dynamic form of dance that fuses technique and personal flair. The VPA style of jazz is current, engaging and entertaining.

★ CONTEMPORARY

Contemporary Dance is a dynamic form that originated in the early 20th century and is constantly evolving. Contemporary dance combines precision, release of the centre, self expression and personal interpretation.

★ LYRICAL

Lyrical Dance combines many of the technical elements of ballet with the freedom, fluidity and expressiveness of traditional jazz forms. This style is focused on conveying meaning and emotion through the intepretation of music.

★ GLENN WOOD TAP

Tap is a rhythmic and dynamic art form that melds percussive sound with the jazz style. VPA Studios specialises in the Glenn Wood Tap Syllabus, which is comprised of levels from grade 1 to 9.

★ DANCE CONDITIONING

The Dance Conditioning classes are designed to implement evolving techniques useful for the development of key dance components including strength, alignment, control, coordination, endurance and flexibility.

★ STYLES TECHNIQUE

Within the VPA style technique classes students are taught, and work towards refining, the techniques and skills specific to the jazz and contemporary style.

★ VPA HIP HOP

Hip Hop is a street style of dance that is energetic, funky and constantly evolving. VPA Hip Hop is offered as a JUST FOR FUN class on a weekly basis.

★ VPA- Mini Movers

Our Mini Movers class is a specially designed class offered to our youngest VPA students, aged 3-5. This class is a fun and exciting introduction to the styles of Ballet and Jazz.

★ PRIVATE TUITION

Students at VPA are selected for private lessons based on their ability, commitment and dedication. Private lessons are provided in all styles of dance. Students will learn various routines within their private lessons and must compete in at least four eisteddfods annually.
