ABOUT US

Founded by Jayne Papalia and created in Freshwater on the Northern Beaches of Sydney. Inspired by the raw coastal landscape, Jayne’s collection provides a functional yet unique range of ceramics and jewellery that has a simplicity and organic feel to each of her one of a kind pieces.

What once started as a passion project and an escape throughout the Covid pandemic, soon grew to become a fulltime business of creating ceramics and jewellery and teaching the art of ceramics.

With a Graduate Diploma of Education and over 11 years as a Teacher/Educator/Program Manager, Jayne uses a variety of teaching and learning principles to provide a student centered approach, carefully tailoring each workshop to the needs of each participant.

The tactile contact of creating with clay is a very primal mode of expression and is a physical-sensual-mental experience. Its is a process that can not be rushed and therefore has many therapeutic benefits. The creative process of working with clay makes us step away from the need for instant gratification and realise that we do not always get what we want and we must let go of control and sometimes accept and then even see the beauty in imperfection. The process can not be rushed! If it is, the clay will only rebel by cracking or exploding in the kiln. Then there is nothing to do but learn from the experience and start over.
