Taree Scout Group

Joining Scouts has never been easier!

Scouts NSW provides a safe and supportive environment for young Aussie boys & girls to make new friends, embark on adventures, learn skills for life, and most importantly, have fun!

Do you want your kids to:

★ Be more active?

★ Learn skills that they won’t learn in the classroom?

★ Be more confident?

★ Make life long friends?

Scouts provide young Aussies aged 5 to 25 with fun and challenging opportunities to grow through adventure.

These achievements lay a solid foundation for the success of our future Australian leaders. But don’t tell the kids they’re learning… they think they’re just having fun!

Scouts provides fun and exciting programs that promote active learning. Whether the young boys and girls are canoeing, camping, visiting museums or helping their local community, the activity is sure to teach them about themselves and the world around them.

We emphasise active learning for young people through adventure and challenge.

We provide experiences that are all about:

★ Connecting with the outdoors

★ Building new and existing friendships

★ Learning new skills

★ Helping to create a better world

OUR STORY

aree Scout Group was formed in 1999 after the amalgamation of Taree Sea Scouts and Taree Scouts.

Local history tells us that the Taree Sea Scouts were located in the building adjacent to the old Taree swimming pool on River Street Taree, and Taree Scouts have always been located at Rifle Range Road Taree. You can visualise the moments of the past from old award plaques on the kitchen wall.

The buildings you see standing at our Scout Hall site, have been built at all different stages in the years gone past, with the most recent building being the kitchen and toilet block dated in the late 1980's!
