S.W.A.T Basketball

SWAT Basketball coaching is all about the development of the skills and attributes needed for athletes to perform and play basketball at a high level. Gold Coast is our home where all our trainings are held and we strongly support the Gold Coast Basketball organisations.

We focus on skill based training using techniques to enhance our players ability through their motor skills and coordination. Shooting is one of the most important aspects of basketball and we pride ourselves on developing strong consistent shooters.

SWAT Basketball understands that skill enhancement is the key to player’s growth and reaching their highest potential. We provide an environment where players are exposed to situations that will develop the necessary skills to succeed.

Identifying weaknesses and self-awareness are also areas we focus on. For example not being able to consistently and confidently do a left hand lay up becomes a weakness for players as they move up in age groups. We want to identify this and turn it into a strength. Players also will learn correct shooting technique, which requires self-awareness and mental focus in order to change previous shooting habits and replace them with new shooting habits.

Apart from the previous specific basketball skills, we also aim to improve player’s physical abilities, strength, quickness, and explosiveness. These attributes will further improve the overall ability of each player.
