We are proud to be the first (and currently the only) school in Australia to be delivering the brand new Affiliate Training and Assessment Programme of the Royal Ballet School.

Launched in 2022, this innovative new system of training encourages student-led learning and adopts a holistic approach to dance education in a recreational setting.

ABOUT US

St Kilda Ballet School was founded in 2014 to provide the local community with a family-friendly dance school and to inspire any child who loves to dance!

We adopt a student-led learning approach and our ethos is that every student feels safe to express themselves, encouraged to try and leaves our classes feeling energised, happy and inspired.

We promote inclusivity, safe practice and offer a rounded and holistic dance education.

Our teachers have been trained to the highest standards with dance teaching being their profession for many years.

SKBS Principal and Teacher, Helen Guscott was recently selected as one of only 30 teachers worldwide as part of the first cohort to train to become an Affiliate Teacher of the Royal Ballet School.

Helen is proud to be the first Affiliate Teacher of the Royal Ballet School in Australia and is excited to add this new qualification to her professional teaching credentials alongside her Registered Teacher Status of the Royal Academy of Dance, which she has held since 2001.
