>>> Sinclair’s primary goal is to inspire students to love music and love learning. Across many years of teaching experience, he has a proven track record of student learning outcomes, engagement and appreciation of music.

>>> Sinclair offers bespoke, one-on-one lessons in the disciplines of pianoforte and vocal. Lessons are student-centric and not “one size fits all”. Adult novices wanting to upskill, young learners embarking on their musical journey, or those pursuing a career in arts and entertainment are all welcomed.

>>> His teaching style is informed by a regular commitment to professional development, integration of pedagogical frameworks such as Orff-Schulwerk and Kodaly, engagement with contemporary, peer-reviewed literature on music learning, and self-evaluation and critical reflection on the effectiveness of his teaching practice.

>>> All students learn correct playing technique, technical skills, reading skills, performance skills, style and form, improvisation, composition, transposition, theory and musicianship, aural skills and much more.

ABOUT THE TEACHER

>>> Since his teaching journey began in January 2017, Sinclair has emerged as a highly accomplished and sought-after piano and voice instructor. He began learning music and performing as a child, with a noted interest in contemporary, classical, rock, jazz, and musical theatre. He has an extensive performance resume, and has appeared solo and in bands on live music circuits and in recording studios. He has studied under many industry-leading vocal and piano pedagogues, including Danni Da Ros, Darren Heinrich, Dave MacRae, Glenn Whitehall, Greg Coffin and Marion Rouvas. He regularly engages in professional development and constantly seeks out new pedagogical techniques and teaching resources.

>>> Past teaching experiences at Arndell Anglican College, Cherrybrook Technology High School, Glenwood High School, St Madeleine’s Primary School and St Leo’s Catholic College have acquainted Sinclair with teaching techniques in the classroom, in small groups and in one-one-one lessons. At St Madeleine’s, he self-managed a music tuition program, led the school choir, directed musical items at the annual Christmas concert, and staged many performance showcases. He has also tutored at several leading music schools, including Castle Hill Music Centre, Maxx Music Castle Hill, JHM Academy and Carlingford School of Music.

>>> Qualifications held by Sinclair include a Bachelor of Music – Contemporary Performance from the Australian Institute of Music, as well as Grade 8 Piano, Grade 4 Theory, and CPM Certificate in Voice from the Australian Music Examinations Board; he is currently working towards completion on his Master of Teaching – Secondary from the Australian Catholic University.
