Founded in 1985 by 8th Dan Sensei Trevor Roberts, Shotokan Karate Budokai (S.K.B.) is an authentic, traditional dojo rooted in the spirit of Japanese Shotokan Karate. For over four decades, Sensei Trevor has inspired generations to train with discipline, spirit, and purpose. Our dojo blends traditional Shotokan techniques with modern, progressive training methods, making karate accessible for beginners, returning students, and experienced martial artists alike.

📖 Our Legacy

Shotokan Karate was developed by Master Gichin Funakoshi, combining the strength of Shorei-ryu with the speed of Shorin-ryu. His teachings spread rapidly across Japan after his first demonstration in Tokyo in 1922. Today, S.K.B. continues this tradition while fostering personal growth, discipline, and respect. Sensei Trevor’s leadership has extended internationally, mentoring athletes and coaches across Australia and Papua New Guinea, and contributing to the growth of karate worldwide.
