With over 20 years of excellence, Seiha Shitoryu Karate in South Brisbane is a not-for-profit club dedicated to high-performance training in both traditional kata (forms) and kumite (sparring). We blend Japanese traditions with modern advances, focusing on self-defence, fitness, strength, flexibility, and confidence. Our mission is to guide every student from beginner to black belt, supported by championship-level instructors and a strong community spirit.

👦 Kids Karate (Ages 7+)

Our kids’ program combines fun with fitness and focus. Children develop balance, coordination, discipline, and respect while staying active and engaged. Classes are designed to build confidence and resilience, helping kids handle challenges such as bullying and peer pressure. Parents love that their children gain lifelong skills in a safe, structured environment.

🧑 Teens & Adults

Teens enhance their fitness, muscular strength, and self-defence skills while learning respect and self-esteem. Adults with prior martial arts experience benefit from advanced training in kata and kumite, improving cardiovascular fitness, flexibility, and mental strength. Karate becomes not just exercise, but a way to sharpen focus and build resilience.

🥋 Tradition & Competition

We proudly teach Shito-Ryu kata, including classics like Pinan, Sanchin, Bassai Dai, Seienchin, and Suparimpei. Students also have the opportunity to test their skills in kumite, competing at local, national, and even world levels. With 30+ national titles and world championship medals, our dojo is recognised for excellence both in Australia and internationally.

Seiha’s five world-class instructors are KIA-accredited coaches with CPR and First Aid certifications. Parents can trust that every class is taught to the highest standards of safety and professionalism, ensuring children and adults train in a secure, supportive environment.
