Pioneer Tennis offers both group coaching and private coaching for junior tennis players.
Group coaching is offered across the various Tennis Australia categorised stages:
○ Blue Ball (ages 3 - 5)
○ Red Ball (ages 6 - 8)
○ Orange Ball (ages 8 - 10)
○ Green / Yellow Ball (ages 9+)
⭐ Learn & Play lessons at Pioneer Tennis
Pioneer's "Learn & Play" lessons are for kids! It's a program designed to help every child, no matter their age or ability. ANZ Tennis Hot Shots is played on smaller courts with modified equipment, including lighter racquets, lower nets and low compression balls that don't bounce too high. With four fun stages (Blue, Red, Orange and Green), qualified Tennis Australia coaches will help guide your kids every step of the way.
Pioneer Tennis conducts dedicated Hot Shots lessons both at Mackay and district schools and at the Club. Match Play is also available Saturday mornings and Friday evenings to help our Hot Shots kids develop their game in a friendly and fun environment.
⭐ Junior Development Squad
Pioneer’s Tennis Development Program is aimed at ensuring juniors get the best out of their tennis and aspire to take their tennis to the next level. The program in total has 50+ juniors in the structure, all helping each other strive to be their very best.
Our coaches have a vast amount of professional experience and have coached a number of juniors to go onto a State level and in some cases, become National champions. Our very own Allan Harris coached Australian women’s player and now Australian Head of Women’s Tennis and Fed Cup Coach, Nicole Pratt.
⭐ School Holiday Clinics
Pioneer Tennis run school holiday clinics after each respective school term. The holiday clinics are offered for all ages and each clinic is different, allowing kids to experience something different each time they participate.
Details of the upcoming school holiday clinics will be posted on our website and our Facebook page approximately 3 weeks prior to the respective clinic.
ABOUT US
Pioneer Tennis aims to provide tennis for all ages and abilities. The 14 hard court facility includes 2 ITF standard courts and of which 14 are flood lit.
Pioneer Tennis has 4 full time coaches who conduct both school based and club based coaching ranging from the National Hot Shots Program, weekly fixtures, private coaching, junior development coaching and adult coaching.
