Petitestars Dance Academy started their journey in July 2015. It was opened by the beautiful Jackie Woodward, as the Director and Tiziana Bertaglia (AKA Miss Tizy) as head teacher. In 2016, Miss Tizy took over the direction of the studio. Our approach to teaching is nurturing each child and their individual abilities. We love to explore their imagination and make sure that they embrace their uniqueness.

Our classes are kept small with no more than 10- 12 in the older age classes and no more than 6-8 in the preschool classes. This allows us to give each child the due attention they deserve. It also helps them build friendships within their little groups and learn to help each other when they need it. We follow the AICD- Australian Institute of Classical Dance – Borovansky Institute syllabus for Pre- Primary to Solo Seal. We have a tap syllabus, Modern syllabus and offer classes to children from 2yrs to adult! Though we offer exams in Tap and Classical Ballet, many of our students enjoy their classes without choosing to do the exam. We offer private, one on one competition work, solos and duos and we ensure that the children enjoy the competitions.

We are a very family orientated studio and ALL our pre-school classes are open door. Parents and carers are invited to watch every class and enjoy in the excitement of every class. Parents/ carers love watching their little STARS progress throughout the year. Dance is not like other “sports” it is not seasonal. We dance the whole year and then end it with a beautiful stress- free production for everyone to enjoy. Our Pre-schoolers recital is no more than 60mins long and the children are on stage minimum of 3 times, they are guided by their teachers the entire time they are on stage. There is no make-up or sewing involved. It is a beautiful time for all involved.
