Our professional and fully qualified teachers share their love of performing and the artistry of dance with their students in a safe & nurturing environment. The development of our students' self confidence is a high priority.

At Nova, we focus on making dance available to all skill levels and all ages in a fun environment.

We have specialized classes for little dancers aged 2 year plus. Our FUNKY FEET classes are for 3.5 -5 year olds and our FUNKY MONKEY classes for 2-3 year olds. These classes are so much fun that no one can wipe the smile from their face after class even the teacher!

​We believe DANCE is for EVERYONE - all ages, levels and experience, boys and girls. Our super fun dance classes work on developing strong self esteem, team skills, as well as dance technique in preschoolers right up to octogenarians!

DANCE STYLES

★ Tap - classes in St Ives, Pymble, South Turramurra, Frenchs Forest & Belrose

Tap dance is a form of dance characterised by using the sound of one's tap shoes hitting the floor as a percussive instrument. This is widely considered to be a fun, rhythm driven form of dance that has diverse appeal.

★ Hip Hop - Classes in St Ives, Pymble, South Turramurra, Frenchs Forest & Belrose

Hip-hop dance refers to social or choreographed dance styles primarily danced to hip-hop music or that have evolved as part of hip-hop culture. This includes a wide range of styles notably breaking, locking, and popping which were developed in New York in the late 1960s. This style continually evolves through changing social trends and has ever increasing popularity. A very fun casual style that can be embraced and enjoyed by all.

★ Jazz - classes in St Ives, Pymble, South Turramurra, Frenchs Forest & Belrose

Jazz dance is a classification shared by a broad range of dance styles such as Broadway jazz, afro jazz and even funk. It is frequency influenced by other dance styles such as contemporary and hip hop. Jazz is a great foundation for our dancers providing a good grounding of skills and technique whilst enjoying a wide variety of music from classic to current.

★ Modern/Contemporary - classes in St Ives, Pymble, South Turramurra & Belrose

This style encompasses two dance styles - modern combines elements of ballet and jazz techniques whilst contemporary uses fluid, flowing and/ or contracted movements in a more abstract manner. This results in a more expressive style of dance which often inspires a more honest and emotional portrayal from our students.

★ Musical Theatre - Classes in St Ives, Belrose & South Turramurra

Musical theatre is a form of performing which combines music, songs, dance and spoken dialogue. Commonly seen in stage musicals, this style is thoroughly enjoyed by our students and embraces a more acting based and highly energetic performance.

★ Preschool Dance Classes & Kinder/Beginner Dance - classes in Frenchs Forest & St Ives

Funky Monkeys, Funky Feet Jazz, Funky Feet Hip Hop & Funky Feet Tap are wonderfully creative dance, movement & make-believe classes. Our specialist teachers use a variety of stretching, exercises with a variety of fun props & costumes, dance games as well as dance routines to keep our budding dancers engaged, challenged & thrilled to the point of grinning from ear to ear!
