What do we do?

Mudyala Aboriginal Corporation is an Aboriginal owned and run not-for-profit organisation that aims to support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth in the Northern NSW Clarence Valley region. Our aim is to support young people and their families to connect and engage with education in a comfortable and culturally appropriate manner.

BUILDS CULTURAL PRIDE

Mudyala Aboriginal Corporation operates programs to assist children and youths aged between 0 to 25 years old, to uplift and build cultural pride through sharing stories, art and dance. We use activities to engage at-risk youth by using culture as an avenue through which to be proud. Our work focuses on vulnerable children and youth from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families who are struggling financially or socially so they can better support their children’s needs.

OUR PROGRAMS

★ Community Preschool Engagement Program

Through our Community Preschool Engagement Program, we work with families to identify and address any issues that inhibit their children’s attendance at preschool. We educate parents and carers about the importance of early childhood education and provide them relevant information. We support both children and parents during the transition to preschool, from child safety to helping them get enrolled at the right age for each child.

★ Aboriginal Children & Youth Program

Mudyala’s Aboriginal Children and Youth Program seeks to foster better early childhood development by facilitating connections between families, communities and schools. Through primary development programs, we support the successful entrance of students into secondary school with improved attendance rates and higher levels of educational success.

★ Rising Warrior Youth Football Program

The Rising Warriors program is run by the Mudyala Aboriginal Corporation with the support of the South Sydney Rabbitohs. It helps young boys stay physically and mentally healthy and fulfilled by using Rugby League to connect with them. This new program is designed to be flexible so that it can help our youth heal in their own way.

Mudyala Aboriginal Corporation supports young people and their families to connect and stay engaged with education through empathy, understanding and facilitating a strong connection to culture.
