OUR CLASSES

★ Mummy/Daddy & Me

This class is for little ones between the age of 2 and 3.5 years. It provides an opportunity to dance alongside your child and to be a part of their learning experience.

This class offers the Kinderballet M&M program.

★ Starting Blocks

The Starting Blocks program is aimed at children between the ages of 3.5 and 5 years. This program is suited to brave little dancers who are ready to take the lead from the teacher in class without the support of their parent.

This class is a Little Leapers program.

★ Stepping Stones

The Stepping Stones program is an artistic and inspiring way to introduce young dancers to the performance aspect of the ballet world. It is best suited to children between the age of 6 to 8 years.

This class offers the Kinderballet Next Steps program.

★ Aspirants Programs

Aspirants is developed to be the next stage in learning ballet technique. Part of the class follows the structure of a traditional ballet class with barre work and center practice, while the remainder of the class includes elements of creative movement. This allows for freedom of expression and children’s own creative thinking. Along with set dances and character work, the children will also have opportunities to develop their own choreographic skills within the class.

The part of the class that does focus on classical ballet technique, whilst building on the foundations to increase the repertoire of steps, is taught as a recreational ballet class so that children can experience ballet once a week without the pressures of a big dance studio.

This class offers a Kinderballet TM program.

MEET MISS LEANE

Leané started with Rhythmic Gymnastics at the age of 5 and at age 7 took up ballet lessons to help with her technique. From her first time in the dance studio she was hooked. At the start of high school, Leané was accepted into a youth dance company and her love for dance and performance continued to grow. Later, Leané completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance at QUT and graduated with Distinction.

Leané has performed ballet and contemporary works both in Australia and internationally. In 2012 Leané attended dance workshops in New York at Alvin Ailey as well as Broadway Dance Centre. She also had the privilege of performing in both the Beijing Dance Festival in China and The World Dance Alliance Festival in France in 2014.

When it was time to turn her focus more to teaching, she discovered a passion for working with pre-schoolers and early school ages.

"It brings me the greatest joy and a sense of achievement when I get to see little people grow and develop through the magic of dance. Very few are lucky enough to say that they love their job but I consider myself blessed to wake up every morning excited to go to work."
