What do we do?
Merryl’s Mosaics and Glass Studio is a mosaic and glass fusing studio where people of all ages come and experience the wonderful world of mosaic and glass art and craft.
During School Holidays our studio is an activity hub with activities suitable for kids from 4 years - 18. For little kids we have bead mosaics, "flowers & bling", and jewellery box/treasure chest decorating and jewellery making. For older kids we offer mosaic (7 years +), and glass fusing and fused glass jewellery making (10 years+). Our school holiday programs run from the day your child's school holidays start until the day they go back to school.
Our school holiday sessions run from 10am - 12.30pm; 1.30pm - 4pm or stay the day. Prices range from $40 - $102. For little children who drop in for 1 hour or less cost is $25 per hour.
We also offer hassle free birthday parties with each of these activities. We have birthday party food packages, so all you have to do is bring a cake. Our parties are very hands on and are thoroughly enjoyed by kids. Prices range from $29 - $45 depending on party type plus a one-off $50 fee for a private party. Minimum of 9 children for a party at these prices.
Aside from school holidays, we are also open on Sunday mornings and some Saturday and Sunday afternoons throughout the year. We offer Term Classes as well which are run weekly on a Thursday from 5.15pm - 6.45pm and children learn hands-on skills with a lot of support.
Prior bookings are essential to reserve your spot.
We are also available throughout the year for adult and child to come together. Typically for this type of parent/child activity you can call and drop in on the day.
Merryl's Mosaics also offer a range of DIY Mosaic and Craft Kits which are delivered with everything you need to make your kit, inclusive of written instructions, a video demonstration and everything you need to make your kit at home. A great activity to take away on holiday with you for those rainy days.
We have been operating for 15 years; have exceptionally well-trained staff and pride ourselves in offering your child a happy, creative and fun experience. They will also take something home that they are proud of.

We offer 6 types of birthday parties:
Mosaic Party - 7 years+ $32 per child
Fun, relaxing, creative, very hands-on
Great for boys and girls of all ages
Bead Mosaic Party - 5 years+ $29 per child
Fun, relaxing, crafty, very easy to do. Great for boys and girls (after 7 years old boys prefer mosaic party)
Jewellery Box and Jewellery Making/Treasure Chest and Treasure Making - 5 years+ $47.50 per child
Fantastic activity - make and decorate your own jewellery box or treasure check and then make necklaces/bracelets/keyrings/mobile phone strap charm to go inside.
Flowers & Bling - 5 years+ $35 per child
Fun, relaxing, crafty, blingy and glitzy. Great for girly girls.
Glass Fusing - 10 years + $42 per child
Unique party. Great for 10 years+ and teens. Make a 17cm x 17cm glass bowl/plate/flat piece. Elegant result. Leave here for firing and pick up 10 days - 2 weeks later
Glass Fusing Jewellery
Unique party. Great for 10 years+ and teens. Make a 6 - 8 fused glass jewellery pieces. Includes bails (to hang). Elegant result. Leave here for firing and pick up 10 days - 2 weeks later
Typically the activity part of the party runs for 1 hour 45 minutes - 2 hours. Then you have about 20-30 minutes for the food and celebration. The children will take their pieces home (except for glass fusing and glass fusing jewellery where pieces are left with us for firing and are picked up 10 days - 2 weeks later).
You can supply your own food or we can cater. See below for food options:
Package 1: $12.00 per child
Chips, popcorn, fruit slices, lolly plate, fairy bread, vegemite sandwiches, bottled water
Package 2: $14.00 per child
As above. Replace fairy bread with cupcakes OR replace vegemite sandwiches with Hot Chips
Package 3: $16.00 per child
Package 1 with cupcakes AND 2 Hot Chips (no vegemite sandwiches or fairy bread sandwiches)
If you supply your own food you can come from about 30 minutes before to set up. You will have a table for the food. We have a fridge which will fit in an ice-cream cake. Please bring equivalent to 1 plastic table cloth if you are having a party for less than 14 children, or 2 table cloths if you are having a party for more than 15. Please also bring all cutlery, plates, cups etc. for the party food. If we supply the food you don’t need to bring anything except the cake.
We supply invitations for all party types.
For all our parties, the minimum number of guests is 9 (for the prices above). If less than 9, the price goes up accordingly. There is also a one-off fee of $50 for a private party.
We can accommodate up to 32 children (35 with a push) in our larger party space, and up to 14 in our smaller party space. We have a large, arty studio space which is spacious and comfortable.
The party cost includes your child’s activity and after-party food and celebration. If you are inviting 10 or more adults to the party, a venue hire of $100 applies. This enables you to entertain adults as well, with space for them to sit and nibble if you choose. This cost will cover us for an additional space, a longer party and a large party venue. We do not have capacity for more than 15 adults.
Once you have decided to proceed, we request a deposit of approximately 25% of the booking as confirmation. Payment can be made either over the phone with Credit Card, or directly into my bank account.
We also offer a mobile option where we can come and run the party at your venue (within a 25km radius of Caulfield). Our mobile party costs are the same except that instead of paying $50 for a private party, you will pay $120 for a "shlepping fee" which includes us bringing everything to you, travelling to you and returning everything to our studio after the party.
We have been running our parties for over 15 years and are very confident we will offer you a party you will be delighted with.
