Our goal is not only to teach our students to dance well, but to inspire in them a love and passion for dance.

At Makin Moves Dance Studio we believe that every dancer is unique. Our mission is to guide our students to reach their own potential and goals by nurturing their individuality.

Whether it's dancing for fun and fitness or for the more serious students who want to pursue a career in the dance industry, MMDance caters to all levels and ages from 2 years to adult dancers.

DANCE STYLES

★ Classical Ballet

This is a structured and disciplined style that helps develop important techniques that can be carried through to just about any other style of dance. Students learn to apply themselves and gain a good understanding of how their bodies work.

★ Tiny Tots

Our Tiny Tots classes start from 3 years and are available in Ballet and Jazz. Tiny Tots classes start to teach little ones the basics in dance in a fun and supportive environment using games and imaginative activities to help students learn while having fun.

We also offer classes for extra little tiny tots from 18mths - 3 years.

★ Jazz

This upbeat and energetic style has always been a firm favourite for boys and girls of all ages. With a strong focus on Jazz techniques, students will also improve their strength, control and confidence in this fun style of dance.

★ Contemporary / Lyrical

An expressive dance style that draws inspiration form all areas of the dance world. Using ballet and jazz techniques this style is often inspired lyrically and emotionally by the music, a style in which dancers can be themselves in a free expressive form.

★ Hip Hop

This style is fast becoming one of the most popular styles amongst kids and adults of all ages. Its upbeat street style gives students the opportunity to express themselves to popular hip hop music and explore all hip hop styles, such as popping, locking, tutting, breakdance.

★ BOYS ONLY Hip Hop

Boys only hip hop gives boys the chance to learn hip hop in a more masculine style with lots of energy and strength-inspired movement. Primarily working on breakdancing, popping and locking, and developing fundamental techniques for this great style.

★ Musical Theatre

This fun dance style combines Dance, Drama, Singing and Performance skills all into one class. Students learn how to perform and dance in a theatrical way as they tell stories from some of the world's most-loved musicals and shows. In addition to improving voice and performance skills, musical theatre also encourages strong dance techniques.

★ Tap

Tap is a very timeless classical dance style. Using one's feet to create percussive sounds, it helps teach musicality and precision. It is a wonderful form of fitness and great fun for all ages. No matter your dance experience at any age you can pick up a pair of Tap shoes and learn the art of Tap Dancing.

★ Acro Dance / Tumbling

For those dancers who spend more time walking on their hands or cartwheeling everywhere, this is the style for you. All the great elements of acrobatics with a dance-inspired twist. Acro dance teaches strength, balance, flexibility, control and agility from trained and qualified teachers who know how to teach and spot students correctly.

★ Performance Teams

We have performance teams for students as young as 5 years. These classes are by invitation only for those students who show potential and commitment in their other classes. Students have extra performance opportunities as they attend eisteddfod and dance competitions throughout the year.

Makin Moves Dance Studio offers dance training to students of all ages and all skill levels.
