Lyrebird Guitar School offers reliable, professional, and affordable guitar tuition for children, teens, and adults. Whether you’re picking up a guitar for the first time or looking to refine advanced skills, our lessons are dynamic, tailored to each student, and always fun. We believe learning music should be practical, enjoyable, and inspiring.

👶 Who Can Join?

We welcome students aged 5 and up, from beginners to advanced players. Whether you want to strum along to your favourite songs, master blues solos, explore acoustic classics, or prepare for formal music exams, Lyrebird Guitar School has a program for you.

🎶 What You’ll Learn

Students progress through essential skills including sight reading, chords, scales, arpeggios, rhythm guitar, listening exercises, and music theory. Techniques such as strumming, picking, fingerpicking, and more are taught alongside diverse styles—classical, folk, rock, funk, jazz, and Spanish. Lessons also incorporate songs students love, making learning personal and engaging.

📚 Exam Preparation

For those seeking formal pathways, we provide structured training for LCM, AMEB, and Trinity College exams, covering both classical and contemporary repertoire while encouraging improvisation.

👨 About Martijn Hadders

Lyrebird Guitar School is led by international guitarist Martijn Hadders, who holds a Bachelor of Music from the Royal Conservatorium in The Netherlands. With over 15 years of teaching experience across Europe and Australia, Martijn brings a wealth of knowledge, performance experience, and passion to every lesson. He is also a registered Creative Kids provider with an up-to-date Working With Children Check.
