🌟 The Kumon Story

In 1954, Toru Kumon, a high school maths teacher in Japan, noticed his young son was struggling with mathematics. To help, he began hand-writing worksheets for his son to practise for just half an hour each day. Carefully matching each worksheet to his son’s ability, Toru Kumon helped him progress step by step—so much so that by the end of primary school, his son was solving calculus equations.

Encouraged by this success, Toru Kumon released the Kumon Method of Learning in 1958. His vision was simple yet powerful: every child should learn at their own pace, supported when needed and extended when ready.
