At Hurricanes Basketball, we’re more than just a sports club—we’re a community where kids can grow their skills, build confidence, and enjoy the game in a supportive environment. Since 1997, we’ve been helping young athletes sharpen their abilities while having fun, staying active, and learning teamwork.

🌟 Junior Basketball League (Ages 6–19)

Our leagues cater to both boys and girls, offering equal play time and positive competition. With a strong focus on fundamentals, teamwork, and sportsmanship, kids develop their skills while enjoying the game alongside friends.

🤝 Community & Partnerships

Partnering with the Southwest Metro Pirates, we provide pathways for athletes to play fairly, involve families, and experience basketball as a fun, inclusive sport. Many of our players also participate in the Brisbane Bullets Big Shots training program, giving them opportunities to grow even further.

Founded in 1997, Sunnybank Hills Hurricanes Basketball Club is one of the three founding clubs of the South West Metro Basketball Association. Today, we have over 150+ team members, and since 2016, our growth has been nearly 500%. We proudly cater to both male and female players from age 6 through to high school completion.
