Hudson St Hum

Hudson Street Hum is a space where creative arts workshops are run. We believe in the power of the arts and creativity to enrich and connect people. We are an inclusive social business which means our profits go back into promoting a love of all things creative.

ABOUT US

Hi, we’re Aleeta and Suzie, two Newcastle locals who love all things creative. We believe taking time to explore ideas, learn something new, and meeting inspiring people brings both energy and calmness to our daily lives.

With 25+ years’ experience working in the arts, communication and not-for-profit sectors, we’ve decided to set up our own social business combining all the things we love. Hudson Street Hum is a dedicated creative space where artists, writers and makers can run classes, workshops and events.

We aim to deliver workshops, classes and events celebrating diversity in the creative arts. We’re committed to offering something for everyone, from the complete beginner through to the experienced. Newcastle has more artists per capita than any other city in Australia – it’s time to share this creative richness with the wider community!

SPACES

Workshop

Our workshop is great for drawing, painting and making stuff. Ideally the space is suitable for small groups. This space also works well for small events such as poetry readings, book launches, clubs etc.

The Loft

Our cosy loft is a great place to run all sorts of writing workshops, book clubs, meetings and generally a quieter space to retreat to. The loft is freshly painted and has great natural light and ventilation.

White wall

We have a huge boring white wall waiting for inspiration! We’re happy to use this space for folks who may not have exhibited before.

Please feel free to get in touch with us if you've got a great idea and keen to run workshops.
