Our Karate Kids program blends character development, fitness, and self-defence in a safe, supportive environment. Shy children learn to speak up, energetic kids discover discipline, and all students grow more respectful and confident. Training focuses on non-contact sport karate, with impact bags used for striking practice—teaching kids skill without encouraging harm.

For teens and adults, classes build strength, resilience, and technical skill while cultivating respect and discipline. Students learn both classical and modern practices, developing outstanding defensive capabilities and a deeper understanding of martial arts traditions.

Led by Paul Tomassini, 7th Dan black belt with over 35 years of teaching experience, Heiko Ryu Karate Club is dedicated to “Best Practice Karate.” Rooted in Goju Ryu traditions, our lineage connects directly to world-renowned masters Ohtsuka Tadahiko Hanshi (Japan) and Taira Masaji Hanshi (Okinawa). Based in Glen Waverley and Keysborough, we proudly uphold centuries-old values of budo—discipline, care for others, and self-mastery—while helping students of all ages grow into better people.
