With this incredible style of dance competitions you get to enjoy an organised competition day with no waiting around for long sections, bright lights, stunning costumes, opportunities to see the world and plenty of fun for the whole family!

At Gymstars we offer highly qualified and experienced coaches to provide a world class cheerleading and dance program. We have developed a highly successful and internationally recognised program which has earnt our teams many international trips to various prestigious events. We have earnt the opportunity to compete at the Cheerleading World Championships held in Florida Orlando, in 2013, 2015, 2018 and 2019 as well as The Summit in 2020.

DANCE STYLES

★ Hip Hop

Hip Hop is a vibrant form of dance that combines a variety of freestyle movements to create a cultural piece of art. Through its three main styles of popping, locking, and breaking, hip-hop dance has evolved into one of the most popular and influential styles of dance. Hip Hop is displayed in shows such as World Of Dance, So You Think You Can Dance and America’s Best Dance Crew. It is unique in that it allows its dancers to perform with freedom of movement, adding in their own personalities.

★ Jazz

Jazz dance combines techniques of classical ballet and modern dance with the current forms of popular dance. Jazz dancing is fun and energetic. It consists of turns, leaps, jumps and kicks. Jazz has become one of the most popular dance styles in recent years, mainly due to its popularity on television shows, movies, music videos and commercials. Jazz teams use popular and current trending music as well as vibrant and uniquely designed costumes.

★ Lyrical/Contemporary

Popular to audiences and dancers alike, it portrays the world through the eyes of the dancer, their experiences, stories, and emotions.

Lyrical/Contemporary is free-form style is a fusion of ballet, modern and jazz technique. Lyrical encourages dancers to find inspiration from their life experiences and convey this through their movement and performance. Lyrical often includes many forms of turns, jettes, kicks, rolls and jumps.

★ Ballet

Ballet is said to be a combination of choreography and art, scenic design, lighting, costume, graceful movements and usually solemn music. It is an artistic dance like no other, that can be used to express different emotions or to tell a story. Ballet is the true foundation of all dance styles. Ballet teaches poise, strength, flexibility, technique and control.

★ Acro/Tumbling

“Acro” short for Acrobatics teaches students to perform skills such as, forward rolls, cartwheels, handsprings and more! Acro teaches the foundations of gymnastics on both a dance floor as well as a blow up tumble air track to ensure the safety of all students.

DANCE CLASSES

★ Competition Dance

Our COMPETITION PROGRAM, has strict attendance and commitment, our competitive students attend between 4-6 competitions each year. Attendance at all competitions including the 2021 AASCF Cheerleading nationals being held in Melbourne is compulsory.Families and athletes are required to read and sign our Gymstars commitment policy.

★ Semi-Comp Dance

A great introduction to the world of Allstar dance. Perfect for children and families who would like to experience the many benefits of competitive dance, whilst having a lower level of commitment. 1 training per week, 3 competitions per year, Lower costs. Families and athletes are required to read and sign our Gymstars commitment policy.

★ Recreational Classes

Our RECREATIONAL PROGRAM is for those who are interested in being part of GYMSTARS DANCE DYNASTY but are not able to commit to competitions and strict attendance but who would still like to come along and learn the many benefits of dancing for fun.

All of our recreational classes perform along side our competition teams at our end of year showcase.

You will learn all of the basic foundations of all styles of dance, while being challenged to push through your comfort zone to learn new and exciting skills.

BIRTHDAY PARTIES

The AWESOME Gymstars Party Team are professional, enthusiastic & competitive dancers who will make sure your dance party is full of fun, excitement and the best memories!

The Party Team will teach a fun dance routine, games and tumbling! All routines will be age appropriate, fun and easy for guests to perform. We can plan your party to suit your party guests, you can choose a party theme including TikTok Party, Disney Party, High School Musical Party, Hip Hop party and more!

Gymstars will always have a sufficient number of Party Team members attend the party to ensure that all stunts can be done safely, and that all party guests can learn the routine.
