Zetland 2017 NSW

What do we do?

Dunbar’s first contribution into junior football came in 2008 through an official charitable initiative via a partnership with the Football Project of Indochina Starfish Foundation (ISF).

Dunbar supports ISF in Cambodia, who are working in a number of ways to make a real and tangible difference to the children in one of the poorest regions of the world. Dunbar sponsors an Under 14 Boys and Under 14 Girls team from Komar Rikreay (KMR) in the Battambang region. KMR provides non-institutional care and community nurturing for former street and trafficked kids.

Dunbar’s point of difference is that we provide qualified coaches for all of our junior teams without the additional cost charged by Academy coaches and unlike other clubs who require parents to step up by volunteering to play the role of coach.

The program will be directed by Christian Soares, a Brazilian coach who holds various senior coaching certificates and dilpoma’s in physical education, sports science and functional training.

Christian will lead his team of young, qualified coaches and senior Dunbar players with coaching certificates who have volunteered their time to give something back to the game, all of our coaches have undertaken Working for Children checks and are required to increase their level of coaching qualifications each year so that we continually improve our standards and provide a better offering each year as we grow.

The junior programs will follow the FFA curriculum which is designed to offer a fun learning environment that will also assist your child’s development and build an everlasting passion for the game of football.
