🌟 Welcome to Ermington United Sports and Recreation Club

For over 60 years, Ermington United Sports and Recreation Club Inc has proudly provided the local community with opportunities to play tennis and enjoy sport through its volunteer‑based divisions.

⚽ Our Story

The club’s journey began in 1957 when local parents came together to form a soccer club. Four passionate founders—George Mannix, Bill Murphy, Fred Dixon, and Ted Turner—laid the foundation for what would become a thriving community hub. Early games were played at Cowells Lane and George Kendall Reserve, back when facilities were modest but the spirit was strong.

🎉 Community Spirit

From the very beginning, Ermington has been about more than sport—it’s about people coming together. In 1960, a fundraiser at Betty Mannix’s home drew such a crowd that police had to close Spofforth Street to manage the numbers! By 1961, the club had grown so much that it expanded to represent multiple sports, officially becoming a Sports and Recreation Club.

💖 Why Families Love Us
