Des Renford Leisure Centre

The Des Renford Leisure Centre (DRLC) is an award winning facility located in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs at Heffron Park in Maroubra. It is owned and operated by Randwick City Council and comprises of state of the art gym, aerobics and pool facilities. With over 500,000 visitors per year DRLC has a large range of water and dry land activities for you to experience.

AQUATIC PROGRAMS

The Aquatic Program options at DRLC are extensive and provide everyone the opportunity to be involved in water activities, regardless of their age or ability. With one of Australia's largest swim schools, the successful DRLC Learn to Swim program is a great first step for people of all ages to learn about water safety and develop their swimming skills.

Beyond Learn to Swim, DRLC offers a vast range of programs to meet most swimming needs from the competitive swimmer to those who simply want to stay fit in the pool.

★ Learn to Swim

Accredited swimming program and lessons.

The Des Renford Leisure Centre Swim School program is an accredited Austswim and Royal Life Saving Society Swim and Survive program. Our program is designed to promote water safety, familiarisation and stroke correction within an enjoyable and safe environment.

All abilities are catered for from babies to adults. LTS Bus KidLessons are 30 minutes in duration and bookings are made by the school term. Progression through the program is achieved by meeting the assessment criteria defined for each level and is not based upon age.

★ Rainbow Club & Special Olympics

○ Rainbow Club

Rainbow Club provides swimming lessons to children with a disability via concentrated and individual focus.

○ Special Olympics

Special Olympics is a not-for-profit organisation that transforms the lives of children and adults with an intellectual disability through regular sports participation.

Through sport, athletes get fit, build confidence, make friends and have fun. There's something for everyone from beginners right up to elite competitors.

★ School holiday programs

○ Intensive Learn to Swim

Fast track your child's swimming with our Intensive Learn to Swim program. Held each school holidays, lessons run for 30-minutes each day Monday to Friday (excluding Public Holidays).

○ Pool Inflatable

Slip, slide and laugh while you negotiate your way along the inflatable for massive amounts of fun and entertainment. Our pool inflatable is available to the public in school holidays and is FREE after normal admission fees.
