✨ Kids Art for Wellbeing

Kids groups Art for Wellbeing will be held in a group environment with a focus on mental well-being, stress reduction and mindfulness. The groups will provide kids with a quiet space to participate in creativity, self reflection & discussion appropriate for their age group. This is an introduction for younger aged children.

ALL ABOUT ME

I cant remember a time where I didn’t have a sketch book with me, full of mad scribbles and ideas, concepts and new works. I have scores of them on my bookshelves still today- all full of secrets from my previous selves, waiting for a chance to become more then just words on a page and a few scratchy lines.

Before my art practice really took flight, I lived a life of a commercial photographer. Weddings, portraits and families were my calling and I spent countless hours sharing the most important events in my clients lives. I have passion for connections and I was able to tell these stories through my studio. Not only has my studio allowed me to live my art for more then 12 years, but it has also given me some of my most dearest friends.

Being hands on again and not just in front of a screen has helped my fine art photography as well- I think more in terms of 3D rather then the flat form. My photography concepts breathe more life these days, and work hand in hand with my sculpture works. I have also started painting and found emense joy in watercolour.

Being immersed in the arts world has bought me in contact with artists, galleries and museums and I am able to connect with so many around me. I work as part of the installation teams at Maitland Regional Art Gallery, Gosford Regional Art Gallery and The Art Gallery of New South Wales. It is increidable being surround by art all day long!

Art for me has always been about expressing emotions, exploring ideas and asking questions. A way for me to look into myself. I hope the art I create gives something to those viewing my work as well- a platform to think, ask and explore within themselves and the world around them. I believe that as artists, we pour so much of ourselves into our work, but without a viewer, it waits unread and unable to grow. As work is viewed, shared and discussed, it gains more than its original life and each viewer, each time, adds to the story of the work and what it represents. Art therefore is always collaborative and always brings people together.

My daughter shares this life journey with me and every day I am greatful to have her. She is my life force and my inspiration every day.
