Cobar Clay Target Club

Our Clay Shooting Club offers a safe, structured and welcoming introduction to clay shooting for families with older children. Designed for participants aged 12 years and over, our activities focus on responsible shooting, skill development and enjoyment in a well-supervised environment.

Safety is our top priority. All shooters must hold a valid shooter’s licence or permit and be accompanied by a supervising adult. Every participant is required to sign a waiver, and a qualified marshal is always present to ensure sessions run safely and smoothly. This gives parents peace of mind that their child is learning in a controlled, supportive setting with clear rules and guidance.

We offer regular shooting opportunities, with members coming together to shoot once a month on a Sunday. These days are relaxed, social and suitable for beginners as well as those with more experience. We also run competitions with prizes, adding a fun and motivating element while encouraging good sportsmanship and focus.

For families who are new to the sport, we host “Come and Try” days two or three times a year. These sessions are open to both adults and children, making them a great way to see if clay shooting is the right fit for your family. Mentoring is also available, helping new shooters build confidence, learn safe techniques and enjoy the experience at their own pace.

Our club is about more than just shooting — it’s about learning responsibility, patience and respect, while spending quality time together in an outdoor setting.
