⚽ Our Aims & Objectives

The Caringbah Redbacks Football Club exists to foster and grow soccer in our local area. By affiliating with the Sutherland Shire Football Association, we ensure that every registered player has the chance to enjoy competitive games in a supportive environment. We also uphold the standards and decisions of Football New South Wales and the Association, making sure our members—players, officials, and families—are part of a fair and respected sporting community.

📖 Our Story

The Redbacks began in 1960 when coaches John De Witt and Ken Chipman recognised the need for a new club to support the growing number of young players in Caringbah. Starting small, with just a handful of sign-ups, the founders worked tirelessly—stopping boys in the street and inviting them to play—to build teams in the under 8, 9, and 11 age groups. Despite early challenges, their determination paid off, and the club quickly became a proud part of the local competition.

🎨 Our Colours & Emblem

The iconic red and black colours were chosen by the founding members, inspired by clubs and teams they had played with in the past. These colours set the Redbacks apart from others in the district. Later, after much debate, the emblem was decided: the Redback spider, a symbol of resilience and strength, became the proud identity of the club.

Today, we continue to honour our history while providing opportunities for players of all ages to enjoy the game, grow their skills, and be part of something bigger than themselves.
