Kokikai Aikido is a natural, relaxed, and powerful style of self‑defence created by Sensei Shuji Maruyama in the 1980s. Continually refined, Kokikai focuses on using principles instead of rigid patterns, helping students of all ages uncover their hidden potential — whether physical, mental, or emotional. With the motto “minimum effort for maximum effect,” Kokikai offers a practical, modern martial art that builds calmness, confidence, and resilience.

Our mission is to help children, teens, and adults live better today than yesterday by teaching intelligent self‑defence and positive life skills. Through progressive relaxation, correct posture, and a positive mindset, Kokikai empowers students to stay calm under pressure, respond logically to challenges, and grow stronger in everyday life.

🧒 Our Programs

* Kids Aikido (8–12 yrs): Fun, structured classes every Friday during school terms, teaching balance, focus, and self‑control.

* Teen & Adult Aikido (12+ yrs): Classes three times weekly, combining practical self‑defence with personal growth.

* Training & Gradings: Belt progression for kids and adults, with regular grading events following the Japanese system.

* Special Events: Inter‑dojo training and national/international gatherings for adult students.

* Core Skills: Self‑defence against single/multiple attackers, sword and stick forms, meditation, breathing, and relaxation techniques.
