Kids Martial Arts Classes

What do we do?

KIDS MARTIAL ART CLASSES

Our kids Self Defence training combines the traditional values and discipline of Ninjutsu which is incorporated with realistic skills to defend themselves. This martial art style teaches with an awareness of issues that children can face, including "bullying" and violence.

We focus on kids learning martial art skills as well as having fun. The kids martial art classes include real life scenarios, using 'smoke bombs' and obstacle courses.

The kids martial art training is challenging enough so kids don't become bored without discouraging them. Kids receive a certificate on becoming a member and when they are graded, which are held twice a year.

Dedicated and trained volunteers assist with classes.

⭐ Hokkaido Wolves (Ages 4.5 - 14 years old)

When young kids start the martial art program it is specifically designed for younger kids just starting out in martial arts.

Training is based on learning through interactive games so they don't become bored and more importantly use a lot of energy!

Twice a year kids are graded so they can go up a level, and receive a new belt and certificate. This gives a feeling of accomplishment and working towards a goal.

Classes for older kids focus on the traditional techniques of Budo Taijutsu. Kids in this class will use training weapons such as bo (training stick), katana (training sword) and shiruken (throwing stars).

The senseis who are involved in kids martial arts have either a Blue Card or child attending class.

Skills learnt in kids martial arts:

○ Self defense

○ Stranger awareness

○ Fitness

○ Self discipline

○ Self respect

○ Confidence

○ Anti-bully strategies

○ Flexibility

○ Co-ordination

ABOUT US

Welcome to Shinken Dojo

My name is Dean Hensley, and I teach Bujinkan Ninjutsu.

Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu is the collection of martial arts and techniques inherited by Soke (Grandmaster) Masaaki Hatsumi. There are nine schools of martial study forming the core of the Bujinkan, each with their own specialties and differences.

Three of the schools are Ninjutsu which is based on 'natural fighting'.
