Woonona 2517 NSWBKK is a progressive and dynamic hybrid martial art whose focus is on total effectiveness in combat for men, women and children.
What do we do?
Budo Kenkyukai (BKK) is a modern martial art whose focus is on total effectiveness in combat.
A completely unique amalgam of technical adaptations derived from such martial arts as Kempo Karate, Thai Boxing, Japanese Jiu Jitsu, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and edged weapon methodology, stripped back to provide men, women and children with the skills necessary to prevail in real-world combat.
OUR CLASSES
○ Kids Classes
In an atmosphere of discipline and respect, the Boomers group (6-11 years) anti-bully class is designed to make kids' martial arts both practical and enjoyable. The fact that they are practising essential life skills often goes unnoticed.
○ Teens and Adults Classes
Seniors classes at Budo Kenkyukai focus on real-life combat situations. Ranging from situation diffusion through to defence against 'edged weapons', these classes aim to equip the practitioner with the skills to defend themselves against a wide variety of possible scenarios.
The technical foundations of Budo Kenkyukai are derived from over 35 years of active study in Kempo, Karate, Thai Boxing, Ju-Jitsu and edged weapons, which are constantly pressure tested and adapted for the modern environment.
ABOUT US
What is Budo Kenkyukai?
The Australian Martial Arts Research Network is a progressive martial art with time-honoured values. Budo is a discipline of austere training which promotes etiquette, skilful technique, physical strength and the unity of mind and body.
The object of Budo is to cultivate character, enrich the ability to make value judgements and foster a well-disciplined and capable individual through participation in physical and mental training utilising martial techniques.
The technical foundations derive from over 35 years of active study into Kempo, Karate, Thai Boxing, Jiu Jitsu and edged weapons.
Today's media constantly reminds us of the need for an effective method of self-defence. BKK's primary focus is to utilise realistic martial arts techniques and strategies that provide men, women and children with the appropriate harm minimisation and conflict resolution skills to deal with situations that call for immediate and effective action.
