Boorowa Pony Club

The Pony Club of NSW has been supporting young riders and their families since 1946, and today stands as the largest recognised state pony club body in Australia and one of the largest riding associations in the world. As a not-for-profit organisation, Pony Club NSW is dedicated to helping children and young people grow through horse riding, learning valuable life skills alongside confidence, responsibility and teamwork.

With over 270 clubs and more than 13,000 members across NSW, Pony Club offers a welcoming, community-focused environment where kids of all experience levels can learn to ride, care for horses and enjoy a wide range of horse-related activities. Programs cater to beginners through to more experienced riders, with a strong focus on grassroots participation, education and enjoyment.

Clubs run regular Activity Days, generally held on the first and second Sunday of each month (dates may vary by club). These days give children structured opportunities to practise skills, try new disciplines and build confidence in a safe, supportive setting. Open times usually run from February to December, with seasonal start times and gear checks to ensure horses and riders are ready and safe.

Children can take part in a variety of club activities, including flat work, showjumping, sporting, mounted games, polocrosse, trail riding, shows and gymkhanas. This variety keeps riding fun and engaging while helping develop balance, coordination, discipline and a genuine love of horses.

Pony Club NSW places strong importance on horsemanship and animal care, teaching young riders how to responsibly look after their ponies while also promoting the values of sportsmanship, citizenship, loyalty and self-discipline. Members proudly wear their navy blue and gold club colours, reinforcing a sense of belonging and pride.
