Bondi Surf Bathers

Bondi Surf Bathers Life Saving Club has been patrolling our beautiful beach since 1907 and is officially recognised as the first surf club in Australia.

The club has over 1,500 members and 374 of these are proficient, active lifesavers which means they are down on the beach patrolling every 2-3 weeks from October to April. Generally members do more than 50 hours of community service each season, and last year we completed 14,858 patrol hours and rescued 410 people from the surf.
