Barbara Todd Ballet

Barbara Todd Ballet is one of Tasmania’s longest running ballet schools. We were established in Hobart in 1961 by former Royal Ballet Company dancer Barbara Todd and have operated continuously in the same location ever since.

We offer ballet classes for all ages from pre-school students and up. We teach the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) ballet syllabus and employ fully qualified and registered teachers.

OUR CLASSES

✨ Sugar Plum Ballet (2 + years)

RAD pre-school syllabus for children aged from 2 years. These are fun and structured dance classes for kids that develop physical skills and encourage creativity, expression and confidence.

✨ RAD Graded Syllabus (4 + years)

The RAD graded syllabus focuses on ballet and includes elements of freer and progressive styles, appropriate for today’s dancer. We also study Character dance which consists of traditional styles from Russia, Ukraine and Poland.

✨ RAD Vocational Syllabus (11 + years)

The Vocational Syllabus builds on the elements covered in the Graded Syllabus, focusing on the performance of ballet to an advanced standard, and is intended for students who wish to pursue a career in dance - either performance or teaching.
