    Thornton’s Youth Drama Academy (TYDA) brings creativity to life through fun, confidence-building workshops for kids! Our September Holiday Workshop is a vibrant 3-day program inspired by Rio the Movie, designed to spark imagination and joy in every child.

    💪 Our Mission

    We aim to nurture young performers by helping them discover their voice, express themselves, and build confidence through drama and musical theatre. TYDA believes every child deserves a space to shine, laugh, and learn while making new friends.

    🎭 Our Programs

    Over three exciting days, children will dive into musical theatre, fun drama games, and script work — all themed around the colourful world of Rio! They’ll learn performance skills, teamwork, and storytelling, culminating in a short show for parents on the final day.

    🧢 What to Bring

    Kids should bring their own food, drink, and a hat to stay comfortable throughout the day.

Thornton’s Youth Drama Academy (TYDA) is a boutique drama school for kids located in Coomera on the Gold Coast.


TYDA offers a variety of children’s drama classes every week for different age groups and caters for beginners wanting development, through to the more advanced students seeking performance advancement.


Students will learn skills in performance techniques, whilst building their confidence and making new friends.


OUR CLASSES


TYDA offers a wide range of children’s drama classes every week. The classes take place on a Monday and Thursday afternoons, and also Fridays at both locations. From our Tiny Sensation development classes through to the All-Star performance classes, there's something for everyone.

ABOUT US


Thornton’s Youth Drama Academy (TYDA) is a boutique drama school for kids located in Upper Coomera on the Gold Coast. TYDA offers a variety of children’s drama classes every week for different age groups and caters for beginners wanting development, through to the more advanced students seeking performance advancement. We opened in 2017.


TYDA students belong to an amazing and rewarding community of like-minded children and not only learn performance techniques but build on their personal confidence and social interaction by making life long friends.
