About the provider

Miss Caroline Tap Dance is all about the joy of tap-dancing. We provide classes for Kids (ages 4-16), and Grown-ups (all ages, sizes and abilities).

Tap-dancing makes you happy! The combination of music, movement and rhythm gives a natural high. It's wonderful for your physical and mental fitness, and has so many other benefits, like balance, dexterity and musicality. Best of all, anyone can learn it and you'll have a great time whilst doing so. You'll soon realise that dancing is best when you can make some NOISE!

ABOUT US

At Miss Caroline Tap Dance, we strive to make our dance environment supportive, kind and gender-neutral. We want learning to be fun.

Classes for kids are designed so that the kids have an excellent time while learning. We do super-fun routines that they love, but we also focus on them learning strong technique. We don't require uniforms, students can borrow tap shoes and our concerts are stress-free with easy costuming options and a no make-up-on-children policy.

β˜… Junior Classes

The Junior Kids' Classes are all about introducing kids to the joys of tap in a fun and nurturing way. Each week we build on a set of tap-skills in a non-competitive, encouraging environment. Children practice their technique in groups and as individuals, without pressure. The class is balanced to include activities that engage boys as well as girls. We finish each class with fun tap routines, a great hit with the watching families.

β˜… Pre-Schoolers

In the Tiny Tapper Classes we use play-based learning to impart tap skills to pre-school aged children. Using imagination, story-telling and fun music, the children are guided through basic tap and rhythm technique.

β˜… Senior Classes

The Senior Kids' Classes are still about enjoying dance but at this stage they are ready to start learning more complex tap technique. Their tap routines are also more complicated and introduce performance elements.

β˜… Adults Classes

Classes for Grown-ups are open to all ages, sizes and abilities. Classes start with a warm-up, followed by some technique work so that students learn the tools of the trade. And then we dance: original choreography to grooving tunes, plus traditional tap standards such as The Shim-Sham-Shimmy or the BS Chorus.
