Overview
- At Set for School, we believe that children need quality time spent with them to help them gain and fine tune the skills they need to have the best start possible at school. We follow the children’s interest to make the sessions fun and interesting for the children. All of the activities are hands on and interactive, so they are learning while doing.
During our school readiness classes we cover literacy and early numeracy concepts that will support them to have a positive start to kindergarten. Each week lessons are planned to support the children in the class as well as to incorporate their interests to keep them motivated to build on their knowledge.
Sessions will allow for plenty of teacher time as the classes will be maximum 8 children. This will allow for children to also work on their social skills with the peers in their session.

About the provider
Our mission is to give your child the skills they need to succeed at school. We have a small class size in a home like, relaxed learning environment. The group sessions at Set for School are fun and engaging with hands on learning.
Pre-writing Skills:
Fine motor activities including sensory play to build those finger muscles to hold pencils.
Pencil grip and letter formation:
Gross motor skills to help co-ordination, core muscles and strength.
Pre-reading Skills:
Phonological awareness including individual letter sounds, rhyming words, blending sounds, syllables, sound repetition.
Numeracy Skills:
Number recognition, counting, one-to-one counting, introduction to other mathematical language.
Social:
Listening, sharing, turn-taking, following instructions.
Emotional:
Building resilience, show empathy for others, express feelings, ask for help when needed.
