    🎨 About us

    The Holiday Art Class: Running Cheetah Painting + Clay Cat Jewellery Bowl (6–14 yrs) is a fun, hands‑on school holiday workshop designed for young artists who love painting, clay, and creative expression. Held on Friday, 3 July from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, this 3‑hour session gives kids the chance to create two exciting artworks while enjoying a relaxed, supportive studio environment.

    Our mission is to nurture creativity, confidence, and imagination in every child. We provide a warm, encouraging space where young artists can explore new techniques, learn real art skills, and enjoy the joy of making something uniquely their own.

    🖌️ Our Programs

    This workshop includes two creative activities, exactly as described:

    1️⃣ Running Cheetah Acrylic Painting

    Children learn:

    * How to draw the basic shapes that form a dynamic cheetah
    * Colour mixing and shading techniques
    * How to build layers and create movement in their artwork
    * How to complete a full acrylic painting from sketch to finish

    2️⃣ Clay Cat Jewellery Bowl

    Kids explore clay through:

    * Forming a clay tile base
    * Shaping and sculpting a cat‑themed bowl
    * Adding details using coils and simple clay techniques
    * Learning correct joining methods for a secure finish
    * Using air‑dry clay that can be painted at home once dry

    Additional activity listed:

    Axolotl painting + clay figurine (included in the program listing)

    Class details:

    Time: 10:00 am – 1:00 pm (3 hours)

    Ages: 6 to 14 years

    Add‑on: Canvas available for $10

    Minimum: 4 attendees required for the class to proceed

    Refund: Provided if minimum numbers are not met

    Registration: Sign in on arrival

    Voucher: PDF vouchers available upon request

    What to bring:

    * Water bottle (labelled)
    * Snacks (there is a half‑time break)

    What to wear:

    Clothes that can get paint on them (aprons available)

    Teacher:

    Cheryl is a Buderim artist with a teaching degree, QCT and Blue Card registrations. She has taught visual arts at Immanuel Primary School, Matthew Flinders Anglican College, and overseas. She brings a nurturing, encouraging style that helps each child express themselves creatively and confidently.

ABOUT US


Paintbox has earned a solid reputation for offering a well organised, professional high quality drawing and painting program.


Paintbox Art School principal teacher is Cheryl Nonmus. Cheryl has a Diploma of Teaching and a Bachelor of Education with 18 years experience teaching art in many of the coast's private and state high schools.
