- My name is Zoey Chan and I operate Brisbane Piano Studio. I am a passionate piano teacher with over 8 years full time teaching experience. Since obtaining the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music teaching qualification in 2009 I have been teaching in studios, homes and schools.
During lessons, our aim is always to create an interactive and fun atmosphere where students can develop fundamental skills in playing, listening to and reading music.
We tailor our teaching styles to individual students, assessing their strengths and determining whether learning through reading (with sheet music) or listening (playing by ear) will benefit them the most. Many students benefit from learning to do both!
Students are encouraged to explore a range of musical styles including classical, pop and jazz so they can learn to find music that best fits their personal tastes.
We conduct concerts allowing students to showcase their progress in a supportive environment twice a year.
If students wish to pursue classical or theoretical knowledge they are encouraged to undertake AMEB exams, where we've achieved excellent results together.
Lessons held in either our studio (we have two seperate rooms equipped with a Kawai GL-10 grand piano or an upright piano) - or at your own home schedule permitting.
Brisbane Piano Studio, founded in 2016, has three teachers and is currently teaching between 60-70 students a week.
