About the provider

The Australian Physie and Dance Association (APDA) offers a fun, energetic and inclusive way for children, teens and adults to stay active while expressing themselves through movement. APDA combines the best of dance and physie, creating a welcoming community for people of all genders, ages and abilities, where fitness, confidence and creativity grow together.

Throughout the year, members learn 4–6 choreographed routines, each designed to build strength, flexibility, coordination, cardio fitness and performance skills — all within one engaging class. Classes blend a variety of styles including ballet, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, modern dance and traditional physie, keeping sessions fresh, exciting and full of variety that kids love.

APDA works closely with professional dance and physie choreographers, delivering a new and inspiring syllabus each year. Classes run from February through to November, giving students time to develop technique, musicality and confidence at their own pace, while still offering exciting goals to work towards.

A strong focus is placed on mental wellbeing, teamwork and self-belief. Qualified and passionate teachers guide students not only in movement, but also as mentors, helping children build discipline, resilience and confidence in a supportive environment. Families are welcomed into a warm, community-focused culture where friendships flourish both on and off the floor.

For those who wish to participate, APDA offers opportunities to perform in Interclub competitions, team performances, zone qualifiers and Nationals, all designed to be encouraging and achievable. Participation in competitions and teams is always optional, ensuring families can choose the level of involvement that suits them best.

With its unique mix of fitness, creativity and community, APDA Physie and Dance provides families with an uplifting activity that helps children stay active, feel confident and discover the joy of dance in a positive and supportive setting.
